MATERNITY LEAVE

  1. Eligibility. Female employees who have completed a minimum of 80 (eighty) days of continuous service in the Company in the 12 (twelve) months immediately preceding the date of her expected delivery are eligible for maternity leave.
  2. Benefit Period.
    1. Female employees may avail of paid maternity leave for a maximum of 26 (twenty-six) weeks, out of which up to 8 (eight) weeks may be availed prior to the date of delivery.
    2. Female employees having two or more surviving children may avail of paid maternity leave for a maximum of 12 (twelve) weeks, out of which up to 6 (six) weeks may be availed prior to the date of delivery.
    3. Female employees who legally adopt a child below the age of 3 (three) months or a commissioning mother may avail of paid maternity leave for a maximum of 12 (twelve) weeks from the date the child is handed over to the adopting mother or the commissioning mother (as the case may be).

The female employee must provide a doctor’s certificate/adoption documentation prior to beginning the leave.

ADDITIONAL FACILITIES

  1. A female employee is allowed, in the course of her daily work, in addition to her regular breaks, 2 (two) breaks of prescribed duration for nursing the child until the child attains the age of 15 (fifteen) months.
  2. No female employee shall be asked to work, for any reason including a business exigency, during her maternity leave.
  3. Every female employee entitled to maternity benefits under this policy shall also be entitled to receive a medical bonus as specified under the Maternity Benefits Act, 1961.
  4. A female employee may opt to work from home. However, this would apply if the nature of work assigned to the female employee permits her to work from home. This option can be availed after the period of maternity leave, for a duration that is mutually decided by the Company and the female employee.
  5. It is the responsibility of the female employee to submit details of the newly born baby to HR for inclusion in Mediclaim insurance, within 30 days of the birth of the child.
  6. During the extended period of maternity leave, the female employee does not earn or accrue any leave time. The maternity leave period will not be considered for the purpose of computation of annual leave of the female employee on maternity leave.

PATERNITY LEAVE

  1. To enable our employees to adequately care for their newborn child, all male employees, whose partner has had a delivery, are entitled to 15 (fifteen) days of paternity leave (weekends included).
  2. The male employee must submit their spouse’s medical report immediately after availing the leave and re-joining duty.
